Melody Mackeown MSc MBANT BSEM CNHC has over 15 years’ experience working with clients with a wide range of health challenges, including digestive disorders, autoimmune conditions, fatigue, and neuro-cognitive disorders

She trained at The Institute of Optimum Nutrition, where she won the prize for Clinical Excellence, and is a certified Microbiome Analyst having completed advanced training with the Microbiome Restoration Center.

Melody also holds an MSc in Personalised Nutrition from The Centre for Nutrition Education and Lifestyle at Middlesex University, and has a Degree in Psychology from Bristol University (BSc Hons). A certified Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner and Health Coach, Melody combines some of these techniques to help clients achieve their goals. She uses a food first treatment plan, and recommends vitamins, minerals and herbs where necessary, together with lifestyle changes to help clients heal.

As Melody adopts a holistic, mind and body approach to help clients restore their health to their maximum potential, she has seen many people achieve significant improvements in their health and quality of life.

In 2006, I experienced the anguish of a close family member with conventionally unexplained distressing digestive symptoms (daily reflux, nausea and abdominal pain). As a result, I undertook extensive research of my own, which led to a much deeper understanding of how our gut microbiomes help to achieve and maintain good health and which adverse events can impact its proper function. With the dietary steps and nutritional interventions I helped him implement, it resulted in a complete resolution and restoration of his health.

Ever since, I have wondered how many other people suffer long-term needless pain and distress when there are effective solutions at hand that don’t involve faddy or difficult diets and medications (although these are sometimes necessary). As a result, it became a true calling for me and I have worked with hundreds of clients to help them find solutions through nutritional coaching to improve their symptoms and health challenges.

What continues to motivate me is the wonderful transformation I see in clients who go from a limited understanding of the complex drivers of their health conditions to an understanding of what to do about it, and a sense of control.

I keep up to date with the latest research and emerging developments in evidence-based nutrition and scientific knowledge, including the latest laboratory testing available for my clients to guide, support and empower them on their health journeys.

I see the human microbiome as part of the wider planetary ecosystem and its conservation and nourishment are just as important as the conservation of any plant or animal species
